Lenny Emery is an LA / NY based filmmaker with experience in producing, directing and editing. Originally from New Hampshire. He started filming anything and everything when he was 13 years old, by 16 was being paid to events and interviews nationally. At 17 years old, he moved to New York City to attend School of Visual Arts for Film, where he would sneak on to commercial sets uninvited to start helping as his means to “break in” to the industry. By sophomore year, Lenny would request time off from school regularly to direct, produce and edit films, TV spots and more.
His short film FOOLS DAY 2013 (Co-Producer) was acquired by New Line
Cinema, Ed Norton Margot Robbie with a premiere at Tribeca Film Festival and
wins at Austin International, Hamptons International and Palm Springs
International - each festival win qualifying the film for the ACADEMY
AWARDS Short film category. Fool’s Day won over 50+ Film Festival and
was screened at over 150 Festivals world wide.
He directed his first TV commercial at 21 years old for the NHL Network - shooting 15 spots for THE HOCKEY NETWORK that played nationally through out the season. Soon after he was asked to direct all VICTORIA SECRET FASHION SHOW interview / BTS of the Angeles.
He has directed commercials starring Liev Schreiber, Bo Dietel and
Sarah Jessica Parker with aviation company FlyBlade as well as
campaigns for COMPLEX, PUMA, JBL, and more. He directed / produced
multiple campaigns for ADIDAS starring RUN DMC with his work covered /
been listed as an item in the NY POST PAGE 6.
Lenny produced a short film called FROG with Tyler Wallach and EGOT
winner Eli Wallach that won 20+ film festivals. His first TV Pilot he
produced (THE GRIND 2016) was acquired by Amazon PRIME Video. His
first feature film (RAPID EYE MOVEMENT 2019) was sold for domestic and
international distribution with a 10 city theatrical release in the
USA.
In 2021 - he edited a documentary about JULIAN SCHNABEL that was
directed by Sante D’Orazio that was an abstract art project about
Julian Schnabel painting at Andy Warhol’s estate during the peak of
his fame. The film premiered at Tribeca Film Festival. Lenny edited a
number of films for Sante including GREEN DOOR and SCRATCH THIS that screened at Museum of Modern Art, Christie, Sothebys, Art Basel and more.
Recently - he produced a short animated film Play Again for XBOX with a premiere
slated for 2024 as well as his second feature film NOBODY’S HOME that
held a sold out premiere at REGAL UNION SQUARE with DancesWithFilms
Festival NYC.
He is one of the youngest jury members for the NATIONAL BOARD OF REVIEW, volunteers his film services with BEST BUDDIES PROGRAM and the
SPECIAL OLYMPICS, acted as a jury member for the CLIO IMAGE AWARDS and continues to find ways to bring independent film
making to the mainstream.
